Volunteer Opportunities

Parent Coordinator

  • Communicate practice, game schedules, and other important updates to parents.

  • Set clear expectations for behavior, participation, and communication with families.

  • Address parent questions or concerns in a timely and professional manner.

  • Provide parents with necessary information about their child’s participation in programs.

  • Foster positive relationships between parents and the organization to ensure smooth operations.

Soccer Coach

  • Plan and lead soccer practices, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and fitness.

  • Lead the team in games, ensuring all players participate and gain experience.

  • Foster good sportsmanship, respect, and a love for the game.

  • Communicate with players and parents about schedules, expectations, and updates.

  • Ensure safety protocols are followed during practices and games.

  • Collaborate with the Equipment Manager to manage soccer gear and equipment.

  • Obtain a background check prior to coaching.

Equipment Manager

  • Transport, set up, and take down sports equipment for practices and games.

  • Store and maintain equipment, including balls, jerseys, goalie gloves, etc.

  • Distribute uniforms to players and manage uniform inventory.

  • Loan equipment to coaches for the season and ensure proper return.

  • Maintain and store trophies won by the organization.

  • Coordinate with the Facility Maintenance Coordinator for any equipment-related setup needs.

  • Work with the Registrar to ensure uniform distribution matches player rosters.

Finance and Records Coordinator

  • Record all financial transactions, including income and expenses, in a timely and organized manner.

  • Assign each transaction to the appropriate program or activity.

  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports for each program, showing totals for income, expenses, and remaining funds.

  • Work with program staff to ensure financial records reflect actual operations.

  • Assist with budgeting processes and prepare financial data for grant reports or audits as needed.

  • Ensure all financial practices align with nonprofit standards and organizational policies.

Registrar

  • Create and manage registration forms and workflows for all player sign-ups.

  • Update team rosters as new players register or roster changes occur.

  • Communicate with league officials to ensure rosters meet league protocols and deadlines.

  • Review league roster requirements and verify that all information is complete and accurate.

  • Reach out to parents/guardians to collect or correct missing or incorrect player information as needed.

  • Maintain organized records of player data, registration forms, and roster submissions.

  • Collaborate with coaches and program staff to provide accurate and timely roster updates.

Facility Coordinator

  • Contact city and county departments to request permits or reserve fields for practices and games.

  • Maintain a calendar of facility use and ensure all bookings are confirmed in advance.

  • Communicate with program staff and coaches about location availability and changes.

  • Ensure that all facility use complies with local regulations and permit requirements.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with municipal contacts.

  • Keep records of facility requests, confirmations, and any associated costs or permits.

Facility Maintenance Coordinator

  • Prepare outdoor fields (lining, marking) and indoor facilities (cleaning, equipment setup) for use.

  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance on facilities.

  • Oversee cleanup efforts after use, ensuring facilities are returned in good condition.

  • Coordinate with volunteers or contractors for maintenance as needed.

  • Work with the Facility Coordinator to manage scheduling and ensure timely use of facilities.

Communicate with facility owners or managers about issues.

Volunteer Coordinator

  • Recruit, train, and organize volunteers for various roles within the organization.

  • Conduct coaching clinics to ensure that all coaches are prepared for the season.

  • Communicate volunteer schedules, expectations, and updates.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for volunteers, addressing any questions or concerns.

  • Ensure that volunteers are supported throughout the season and have the resources they need.

  • Maintain a positive relationship between volunteers and the organization.

  • Obtain background checks for all volunteer coaches to ensure safety and compliance.

Fundraising and Sponsorship Coordinator

  • Lead and manage fundraising campaigns to raise financial support for the organization.

  • Identify and approach local businesses, masjids, and other potential sponsors for donations and partnerships.

  • Develop and implement a sponsorship program to secure funding for activities, including advertising and in-kind donations.

  • Maintain relationships with sponsors, ensuring they receive appropriate recognition and updates on their contributions.

  • Track fundraising goals and ensure campaigns are meeting financial targets.

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify funding needs and opportunities.

Advisory Board Member

  • Attend regular Advisory Board meetings to discuss program direction, goals, and priorities.

  • Provide input on strategic decisions, program development, and improvements.

  • Collaborate with other board members and leadership to ensure the program meets community and organizational needs.

  • Assist in identifying opportunities for community engagement, partnerships, and resources.

  • Act as a liaison between the parent community and the organization, sharing feedback and ideas.

  • Help support fundraising and volunteer recruitment efforts by providing guidance and networking.

Social Media Manager

  • Develop and execute a social media strategy to promote Ansars’ programs and activities.

  • Create, schedule, and post content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).

  • Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and posts in a timely manner.

  • Monitor social media trends and incorporate relevant content to increase engagement.

  • Collaborate with the marketing and fundraising teams to align social media with organizational campaigns.

  • Track and report on social media metrics and performance to adjust strategies as needed.

Outreach Coordinator

  • Build and sustain relationships with local businesses, masjids, and other community hubs.

  • Distribute flyers, posters, and signage promoting open registrations and events.

  • Coordinate announcements through community leaders and bulletin boards.

  • Develop brochures and partner outreach materials that introduce Ansars to prospective supporters.

  • Identify new outreach opportunities and expand community awareness.

  • Collaborate with the Registrar and Social Media Manager to align outreach messaging.

Webmaster

  • Design, build, and maintain the organization’s website.

  • Keep key information like registration forms, schedules, and announcements current.

  • Ensure the site is mobile-friendly, secure, and functional.

  • Set up and manage Ansars’ email accounts and addresses for staff and organizational use.

  • Provide technical support for website and email-related issues.

  • Coordinate with the Registrar, Outreach Coordinator, and Social Media Manager for consistent digital content.

Ensure that the website and emails reflect Ansars’ branding and values.

Basketball Coach

  • Lead basketball practices and focus on developing shooting, dribbling, passing, and defensive skills.

  • Organize team strategies and ensure the team plays as a cohesive unit during games.

  • Ensure players understand the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork.

  • Communicate with parents and players about schedules, expectations, and updates.

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive environment for all players.

  • Work with the Equipment Manager to ensure basketball gear is ready and maintained.

  • Obtain a background check prior to coaching.

Volleyball Coach

  • Lead volleyball practices, focusing on skill development such as serving, passing, and setting.

  • Foster teamwork and good sportsmanship throughout practices and games.

  • Ensure players understand the rules of the game and encourage strategic play.

  • Communicate effectively with players and parents regarding schedules and expectations.

  • Ensure safety protocols are in place during practices and games.

  • Collaborate with the Equipment Manager for the management and distribution of volleyball gear.

  • Obtain a background check prior to coaching.

Run Club Coach

  • Lead and organize weekly run club practices, focusing on endurance, pacing, and safety.

  • Develop and implement training plans for different skill levels and goals.

  • Encourage and motivate participants to set and achieve personal running goals.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and participants about training schedules and expectations.

  • Foster a positive, safe, and supportive environment for all participants.

  • Track progress and provide feedback to participants to help them improve.

  • Obtain a background check prior to coaching.
